With Contact Beacon, creating and sending messages is extremely flexible, and is designed to maximize efficiency. Your email marketing effort can be as simple as sending a message to a contact list in an Event, or as sophisticated as delivering multiple messages to one or more contact lists over time in a Campaign.

  • An Event is simply the sending of a message to one or more contact lists at a point in time
  • Create independent events to quickly deliver messages and isolate the results
  • You can schedule the delivery date and time or send the message immediately
  • Archive events after they are completed, and retrieve at a later date if needed
  • Group events into campaigns to be able to analyze results across related events

A Campaign is a grouping of events which share a common goal, purpose or theme. Campaigns are used to organize and manage a number of related events and efficiently track results across all the events in the campaign.

  • Our Campaign Wizard can guide you through the steps of creating and delivering successful email campaigns from start to finish. Or you can create all the pieces independently then link them together into a campaign.
  • Campaigns are flexible and give you powerful choices about the pairings of messages and contact lists that are used. A campaign can contain any number of events including:
    • multiple events going out on one day with different messages going to different lists
    • multiple events going out on different days, using different messages and contact lists
    • multiple, date-staggered events that are results-driven, where the open, click-through or website visit counts from one event are used to drive subsequent events. (For more on this, see our overview on multiple-touch campaigns.)
  • Define the multiple events in a campaign in advance and let the campaign run, or build and alter the campaign as it is executed, giving you the opportunity to analyze recipient response rates, click-through behavior and success rates with different messages to drive the next steps in the campaign.
